Why choose a community development credit union?
A credit union is a member owned cooperative business. Instead of investors, credit unions are made up of member owners. We elect a board of directors who hire a CEO. We do not pay dividends but rather use our earnings to grow our business and keep our services affordable. Our distinction as a community development credit union is that we can have non-member investors who keep their money with us because they believe in the mission of bringing financial services to low income and underserved populations.
