Beginning Monday, July 13, 2020, the Vermont Housing Finance Agency (VHFA) will accept applications for the Vermont COVID Emergency Mortgage Assistance Program (MAP).
Assistance is open to any eligible Vermont primary homeowner who is behind on their mortgage due to COVID-19. Selected recipients will receive up to 3 months of past due payments. Payments will be made directly to the servicer.
The application period will remain open until August 31, 2020. After the application period, VHFA will review applications and award funds with priority given to borrowers with the lowest income and highest risk of foreclosure. Recipients will be notified by October 2020.
Due to limited funding, applicants who successfully submit an application are not guaranteed assistance.
